The Sacrament of Penance, also known as Confession or Reconciliation, is a cornerstone of Catholic life. Catholics should participate in this sacrament at least twice a year, at Christmas and Easter. Most Catholics go to Confession monthly.
Going to Confession may be an intimidating idea for some, but speaking in confidence to a priest whom you feel comfortable with, is a fulfilling experience. Making Confession doesn't need to take long, but the rewards are many.
A good Confession allows us the ability to cleanse ourselves of the many transgressions we knowingly (or unknowingly) commit as we go about our daily lives.
Confession is not meant as a punishment, but as reconciling ourselves with our Lord once again. God calls all sinners to His table. ALL OF US.
